Distant Connections is an interior surface design collection that explores New Zealanders' response to Covid-19. Inspired by the spatial restrictions that limited our physical interactions, Distant Connections captures the consequential bonds formed within our communities. Using digital print on paper, textile and ceramic, this collection visualises many of the regulations, statistics and processes we felt during Covid-19 in New Zealand.

(Above & beside) Illustrated isometric repeat print on wallpaper. Exploring the isolated repetition of routine during Covid-19 throughout communities.

(Above) Hand printed and laid tiles exploring the spatial restrictions in our communities. This pattern resembles the regulated, winding, and seemingly never-ending Supermarket Line during Covid-19 in New Zealand.

Repeat exploration into a household context. Inspired by spatial restrictions of Covid-19 in our community.
